I was promised a wonderful first Christmas at St Peter and St Paul’s and was not disappointed. We kicked off with the amazing tower illumination (thanks to Dan Donovan and his team) and the blessing of our ‘North Porch Crib’. On Christmas Eve there was standing room only for the magical 5pm service ‘A Procession to the Crib’ at which families and friends heard the Christmas story, sang carols and brought their prayers to the delightful Nativity Scene under the high altar. Christmas night was marked with the traditional Midnight Mass, and our Christmas Day Holy Communion, at the earlier time of 9am, attracted a congregation of local people and visitors. Do join us on New Year’s Day when our Sung Eucharist will (appropriately enough) include a baptism at which we can all start the year by renewing our own baptismal vows.
