The Norman Church

1187-1200 This first Church was a modest one, which perhaps can best be imagined as a sort of cage within the present structure. Standing at the back by the west door, we are at the west wall of the original Church with its tower above our heads. The Church Tower

The church tower contains the 3rd oldest full peal of 10 bells in the world, cast by William Dobson in 1821. Some of the bells were recast from an earlier 8-bell peal, the oldest bell dating from 1566. This was made possible, largely through the generosity of Dr. Abraham Jobson, Vicar. (more…)

A mission project

Our mission project is based in St. Peter's Lodge. It belongs to St. Peter's Parish Church in Wisbech, and was built in the 1950's on land that was at one time the North West garden of the Georgian vicarage. For many years it was the assistant curate's house. When the parish no longer employed a curate, the Lodge became a rental property. This left the Lodge and garden worse for wear.
